Spring Camp 2016 will take place in Weymouth in Dorset from Saturday 28 th May to Friday 3 rd June. The cost per member will be £100.
We will be staying at Weymouth Baptist Church which is on the beach front, so not far to walk. The church is central to all the activities so there will not be a lot of travelling.
So what will be taking place over the week?
- Bovington Tank Museum
The Tank Museum is a collection of armoured fighting vehicles at Bovington Camp in Dorset, South West England. The collection traces the history of the tank. With almost 300 vehicles on exhibition from 26 countries it is the largest collection of tanks and the second largest collection of armoured vehicles in the world. It includes Tiger 131, the only working example of a German Tiger I tank and a British First World War Mark I, the world's oldest surviving combat tank. - Monkey World
Money World has large number of monkeys and primates from all parts of the world. There are chimpanzee's, Orang-utans, Gibbons and many other species. It’s a great place to watch the Chimpanzees who have appeared on the TV show Monkey Life. You get very close to the Lemurs as you can walk through where they live. - Fossil Hunting
There will be a chance to find a fossil on the beach at Lyme Regis. This area is known as the Jurassic Coast and you can walk along the beach and maybe find your own dinosaur. - Ten Pin Bowling
Spring Camp wouldn’t be complete without going 10 pin Bowling which will be in Poole on the last night. - Other visits
We will be going swimming. Also there will be a visit to Studland Beach where they practised for D-Day and the Boys can explore the bunkers and maybe have a dip in the sea (if brave enough). There will be some other little visits during the evenings plus the computers fill in any time at the church.
We hope you can come along to this camp. If you would like to go then please return the below slip with a £10 deposit by Thursday 21st April. Full payment would need to be made by 21st May 2016.
