News from Queen's Badge Candidates from 1st Lye and 1st Kidderminster planning, fund-raising and experience for their Seniors Challenge 2009.

Newspaper report

The Kidderminster Shuttle did us a great article on Thursday 27th Februrary 2009. The report along with a photo gave readers no doubt as why we are undertaking this walk. Its the biggest report I can ever remember in the Shuttle and I have had a number of people comment what a good report it is. You can see the article on their website by clicking here.

First Fundrasing Walk

This weekend boys in the Senior section of the 1st Lye and 1st Kidderminster companies will be walking from the United Church, Lye to Milton Hall Baptist Church, Kidderminster, in order to raise money for the costs of the their West Highland Way expedition later in the year. After the walk a coffee morning will be held at Milton Hall Baptist Church in order to raise money for the trip. Click 'read more' to see a map showing the two churches.

New Year Update

Its great that the two Companies of 1st Lye and 1st Kidderminster can come together as one. This challenge is something to look forward to and it will also be something to look back in years to come.

On the November camp the Seniors did some walking form Coopers Mill to the visitor centre and back. This was 6 miles in two hours. This gave the Seniors an small insight into the 95 miles that will be covered in July 2009. But this year we will be walking for some 8 hours a day with a rucksack, plenty of training to come.
